I loved this story of a widow with children finding love again when she wasn't not looking for it. She is still mad at her husband for leaving her and can't imagine a future with someone new. And when she realized that new person is someone famously known she wants to turn tail and run even more. I really enjoyed this story and how it was written. It pulled me right into the lead character's life and I was right there with her, experiencing the story with her, and I especially loved the showers.Tags : Tripped Up Love [Julie Farley] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. This is a great book that will make you laugh, cry, feel the pain of a young widower and strengthen your beliefs that the best can come after the worst. It is a simple one day read that I could not put down. Some reviews said it was poorly written and too fairy tale... Disagree that it was poorly written and maybe we need more of that fairy tales in our busy miss directed lives... The power of family and love can not be underestimated! Enjoyable! This is a great book.
Such great characters and story line! Lots of love and laughter! I couldn't give it five stars only because of some unnecessary language. But great story!!!
I really loved this story from the first page to the last. It would be great if all books were this interesting. It is a story about a young widow with three young children. She was definitely not ready for love when fate stepped in and tripped her up. You will enjoy this book no matter who you are. As usual I could have done with a little less of the F word. It defiitnetly did not need to be used ' at least as much as she did. But the story is well worth it.
This is the first review I've tried to write, but I couldn't stop reading and stayed up most of the night to finish this book. I loved the relationships in the book, not just the romantic relationship, although that was fun, but the relationships between all the characters. These characters reminded me of real people I know, from the snippy, ambitious friend, the fault-finding friend, the "always there" strong support friends, and the family members. Like Heather, my former in-laws were as beloved by me as my own, and their relationship in the book brought back precious memories. Peter's acceptance of them and Heather's best friend made me like him even more than his looks, wealth, and all the things you expect to find in the romantic lead in a book. These made this character more real to me. Heather experienced the insecurities of every single mom, trying to meet all the needs of her children. I wanted to "friend" Heather on Facebook. I finished the book, wanting to know what happened next in the lives of this family.I felt as if I'd had to say "good-bye" to friends when the book ended.
This book brought happy tears to my eyes. Even though the relationship evolved quickly, Peter seemed pushy, and Heather appeared weak at times (especially with the catty friends on Facebook), I enjoyed reading this. The supporting character, Jenny, was strong in her role. Heather's in-laws were sweet, and I was positively in love with Henry, the youngest son of Heather. He reminded me too much of my son.
I'm not going to give away the surprise, but it was pleasantly sweet where the proposal took place. I had to laugh about that one.
You will enjoy this book; I certainly did.
This is a great story about finding love and hope and a new future when you least expect it. Heather has lost her husband and the love of her life and is trying to build a new life for herself and her three children. Out on a run one day, she trips in a pothole and Peter rescues her. Life for Heather and her three children is about to change and this story will hook you from the beginning. Julie Farley has written a great story about second chances and finding love when you least expect it. I enjoyed this book so much I reread it as soon as I finished it because I enjoyed Heather and Peter so much. I look forward to seeing what this author has to offer in the future.
This was an interesting story line, and almost a warning against being on Facebook and Twitter. Her "friends" while seeming to support her, put her down and embarrassed her. I grew weary of hearing what a klutz she is.
A good editor would probably trim out a lot of the superfluous and repetitive detail. The book needed to be tighter. I got tired of the descriptions of what the characters wore and ate.
There were many spelling, grammar, and typographical errors that should have been caught during editing. For example
BALLING instead of bawling.
ANYMORE/any more
different THAN/different from
LAY down/lie down
PEAKING in/peeking in
I still enjoyed reading the story and wish all guys were so perfect. )
